In today’s always-connected world, it’s more important than ever for small business owners to be active on social media networks. And while having—and using—social media accounts is a great step in the right direction, it’s not always enough. To ensure that your social strategy is firing on all cylinders, it’s important to integrate each aspect of your online presence, including your website.
By adding a Twitter widget into your website, you can grow your group of followers more quickly and effortlessly than by limiting your tweets to the Twitter website itself. And if you use Weebly as the platform for your site, adding a Twitter widget can be accomplished in just a few minutes. Weebly offers a ton of options when it comes to business website templates
Having a Weebly Twitter widget on your website can dramatically increase the volume of your visitors’ engagement, and help your small business become more prosperous, and ideally, profitable. Here’s an overview of how to go about embedding a Twitter widget to your Weebly site:
Creating a Twitter Widget for Weebly
Twitter makes it straight-up simple to create a website widget, by offering its users a friendly widget creation tool. The tool has a handful of options that you can use to tailor the widget to fit your website. And the best part is that you don’t need to know a lick of HTML to create a Weebly widget for Twitter. All you need to do is follow these simple steps:
How to Embed Twitter into Weebly
Now that you’ve created a fancy new Twitter widget for your website, it’s time to add the code to Weebly. Here are your next steps:
Log into your business’s Twitter account and click on your profile photo in the upper-right corner. Then click on Settings.
Next, on the left side of the screen, click on Widgets, then click Create New, which should appear in the upper right.
Now, select the type of widget you’d like to embed in your site. There are five types to choose from (User Timeline, Favorites, List, Search, and Collection). For most small businesses, a user timeline is likely the best choice. This type of widget will display your businesses most recent tweets.
Under the Configuration heading on the left side, you can adjust the appearance of your widget, including its height, color scheme, and link color. The right side of the screen will show what your widget will look like. After you’ve tweaked the widget to your liking, click the Create widget button at the bottom.
You should now notice a new text block underneath the widget previewer. Before proceeding, copy the code in that space to your computer’s clipboard.
Log into your Weebly site, and from the editor, find the Embed Code or Custom HTML element. Drag and drop that element to the position on your site where you’d like your Twitter widget to appear.
Paste the code that’s on your computer’s clipboard onto your Weebly page.
With the black arrows around the border of the widget, use your mouse to further adjust the dimensions of your widget to your liking.
Finally, click Save and then refresh your browser to make sure the widget is loading properly on your site.
And...you’re done! Your latest tweets will now be visible on your website, and visitors will be able to follow, retweet, and favorite your posts without leaving your website.
Increase your business’s followers and boost your bottom line by adding a Weebly twitter widget to your site. It takes just minutes to do, requires no effort to maintain, and can make a big difference to your business in the long run.
